Lary Deeds, D.M.D.
Lary W. Deeds DMD obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree
at the University of Florida. He completed a residency in pediatric
dentistry while serving in the U.S. Army. After retiring from the
Army, Dr. Deeds and his family have made Clarksville, TN their home.
He opened The Children's Dentist in April 1998. He is a Board
Certified and Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry. He lectures to local civic organizations and enjoys
running marathons and competing in Scrabble. To stay abreast of the
latest advancements in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Deeds maintains
memberships with the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental
Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the
Southeast Pediatric Dental Association.
R. Michael Weaver, D.D.S.
R. Michael Weaver DDS "Dr. Mike" is a Board Certified and a
Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He
graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 1982. After which,
he completed additional training in general and pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Mike is a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee
Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
After retiring from the U.S. Army, Dr. Mike joined The Children's
Dentist in June 1998. He does volunteer work through his church and
enjoys woodworking in his spare time.
David L. Hippensteel, D.M.D.
David L. Hippensteel DMD "Dr. Dave" has joined the staff of The
Children's Dentist seeing teens ages 13 through 18. Dr. Dave is
licensed in TN, PA and NV. He comes to us from a pediatric dental
office in Crossille, TN. He is a graduate of Temple University
School of Dentistry and is also a Fellow of the Academy of General
Dentistry. His family resides in Chapmansboro, TN and his hobbies
include triathlons, motocross, music and also is a Certified Fitness
Trainer NSCA.
Jonathan Junkin, D.D.S
The Children's Dentist welcomes Dr. Jonathan Junkin. Dr. Jon is
a Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and a 20 year Tennessee resident
who retired from the United States Navy in 2011 following two
decades of honorable service. Dr. Junkin is a graduate of the UT
College of Dentistry, Memphis and completed his postdoctoral
residency in 2000 at the Medical University of South Carolina,
Charleston, as that program's first Active Military Chief at MUSC's
Department of Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. In addition to
former posts held as Department Head and Staff Pediatric Dentistry
Consultant for Naval Hospitals Okinawa, Rota Spain, Jacksonville FL,
and Camp Lejeune NC, Dr. Junkin has served as Specialty Consultant
for the National Naval Dental Center. He holds multiengine, glider,
and instrument rated pilot licenses, remains actively interested in
general / sport / experimental aviation, exercise physiology,
motorcycle & RV touring, fishing and pediatric behavioral and
development issues.
